Bird Hide

Michel designed, fabricated and assembled this temporary bird hide structure in collaboration with Dan Burt & Sean McMahon to be a walk-in-periscope: our given location was behind a frequented footpath. With this periscope we offered undisturbed views over the footpath onto a small birds island in the middle of a little lake. We had softwood timber routed and used 4/8 foot plywood sheets plus ratchet belts to assemble this small structure in less than 10 hours and without using a single nail or screw. This project was part of the architecture week in 2007 with lots of interesting results from different teams.
