We were commissioned in early 2013 to develop proposals for three buildings along The Quay in Ilfracombe in North Devon. All of these properties, with the exception of one of the ground floor spaces, were vacant and had been so for some time.
Our approach was one of refurbishment and renewal; to work with the existing fabric of these buildings to provide a new restaurant space with staff flats above.

The project presents an excellent opportunity to refurbish three vacant buildings located in a prominent position along The Quay’s promenade. It would also extend Ilfracombe’s existing offer to both local people and visitors in terms of good quality places to eat and drink.

The project aims to take advantage of the dramatic duel aspect of the site; a view over Ilfracombe harbour to the South, and the Bristol Channel and Wales to the North.
