Established as a limited company in 2011 by Michel Schranz, MSDA is an ambitious design studio offering services in the field of design and architecture. Michel has developed an independent body of work alongside various full time jobs over the past 25 years. Responding differently to every new project, the studio consistently aims to react to site context, brief and other parameters without preconceptions for design & architectural solutions.

MSDA has successfully managed and delivered work of different nature & budget, ranging from residential, the arts & musical installations, commercial spaces, furniture, exhibitions & performance designs.

Developing simple and strong concepts enables later to infill carefully detailed and considered solutions. The aim is to strongly respond to client’s requirements & help to realise visions that are developed together.

Michel’s background as a Swiss carpenter, furniture maker & draftsman conducts the studio’s attention to detail and quality of construction. MSDA is experienced to operate internationally but the majority of recent projects have been local to London and its home counties.

Since September 2020 MSDA is represented in Switzerland with a new small studio based in Chur to look after recently acquired work nearby. For this purpose Michel relocated with his family and is now splitting time between Switzerland and the UK & operating under MSDA GmbH.
